I grew up in Thrace in northern Greece and spent many years in Thessaloniki, first at university, later teaching modern Greek to mostly but not exclusively adult students. And I have been doing the same in the UK since coming to the Oxford area with my family in 2012.
I teach according to your need, ability and goals, particularly using the communicative approach in which the lesson is conducted mostly in Greek. Classes are individually tailored, for friends, or colleagues, or for larger groups. They can be purely conversational or geared towards a more structured approach. They can also be organised as short courses of just a few classes, or over a longer time period.
Your class will be tailored time-wise to what is good for you, usually one hour, sometimes an hour and a half, or two, and I can, where appropriate, come to your home, workplace, school or other suitable learning environment, in the Oxfordshire region or London.
Since covid I have also taught classes by zoom - whether individually, or with groups. These have also worked surprisingly well. Having now got to grips with the technology this also means that I can - using zoom - offer lessons wherever you are!
I also run at least one language summer course in Greece - 'Adventures in Modern Greek' - at various ability levels, usually in the summer. See Links for further details.
If you'd like to know more, or would like to discuss a programme for you or your group's needs, just drop me an email and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
